Education and environmental policy; essential values for the conservation of 99 wetlands in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
Abstract
Wetlands are areas where water is the primary environmental regulator. There are 99 cenotes designated as wetlands of international importance on the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico; however, there is evidence of contamination in the aquifer. The Mexican government emphasizes that, through education, we should seek to identify and develop values that produce intellectual, emotional, and social changes in each person. This is the essence of the work presented in this document.
