Abstract

Vertical workplace harassment represents a growing phenomenon in educational institutions that threatens individual and organizational well-being. This study determines its impact on institutional effectiveness through a systematic review of research published between the years 2012 and 2022, following the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses. The findings reveal that this type of harassment reduces workplace productivity by up to 60%, deteriorates educational quality by decreasing teacher commitment and pedagogical innovation, and degrades the organizational climate by generating distrust and professional fragmentation. It is evident that this harassment constitutes a systemic threat to educational institutional effectiveness, and it is suggested to implement preventive and early intervention strategies that promote healthy educational environments.
