Healthy lifestyle habits and their impact on academic performance: Case study: university students in Mexico.
Abstract
This research paper is a systematic literature review using a descriptive approach and a documentary method. Its objective was to identify research on the relationship between healthy lifestyle habits and academic performance in Mexican university students. Studies agree that there is a positive relationship between healthy habits and academic performance. These habits include nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and mental health. Eating breakfast daily improves quality of life and academic results. Some studies suggest that higher education institutions should implement health promotion programs that include nutritional guidance, opportunities for physical activity, and psychological support, in order to improve well-being and, consequently, student performance.
