Algoethics in the digital revolution: Critical analysis of conceptual consensuses and divergences
Abstract
Algoethics faces conceptual fragmentation that hinders its ethical implementation in the digital revolution, creating risks such as algorithmic bias and lack of accountability. This systematic review article synthesizes definitions of "algoethics" in the scientific literature (2015–2025), applying the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to examine primary studies from legal, technical, and philosophical perspectives. The results show a predominance of legal definitions (78%), an evolution from abstract principles toward models incorporating cultural equity, and three key factors of divergence: disciplinary asymmetries, technological speed, and cultural variables. A dynamic glossary with definitions is proposed to overcome terminological ambiguity and provide a foundation for unified and auditable ethical frameworks in critical sectors.
