Financial stress among Mexicans: effects and consequences.
Abstract
Financial stress is a psychological condition generated primarily by concerns such as poor financial planning and debt. This study examines whether there is any association, and the degree of it between anxiety, sadness, anger, and frustration, in addition to the physical, psychological, and social effects that people report as being caused by financial stress. To this end, the results of the 2023 National Financial Health Survey were analyzed using Chi-square tests and the calculation of Cramer's V coefficients differentiated by Mexican youth, adults, and older adults. A relationship was found between emotions, effects, and financial stress.
