Abstract

This article reviews the literature on factors influencing breastfeeding, analyzing socioeconomic disparities related to access to health services and support networks. The findings suggest that women with fewer economic resources face greater obstacles to maintaining exclusive breastfeeding, while those with higher incomes have a higher consumption of formula. Furthermore, access to specialized health services and community support emerge as key factors for breastfeeding continuity. Finally, strategies to reduce equity gaps in breastfeeding promotion are discussed.
