Postoperative patient satisfaction with nursing care.
Abstract
Patient satisfaction influences treatment continuity and perceptions of the healthcare system. In the postoperative context, nursing care is key, addressing both physical and emotional needs. This descriptive study explored the satisfaction of 85 postoperative patients in a tertiary public hospital. The overall mean satisfaction score was 80.17 (SD = 13.31); the highest scoring dimension was Art of Care (M = 88.06, SD = 15.82), and the lowest was Continuity of Care (M = 80.47, SD = 20.72). The findings show that postoperative patients reported a high overall level of satisfaction; however, the lower score for Continuity of Care suggests areas for improvement to strengthen comprehensive care throughout the hospitalization process.
