School bullying in Latin America: bibliometric mapping of two decades of scientific research.
Abstract
This study presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific production on school bullying in Latin America during the period 2006–2025. Using the PRISMA methodology, 90 documents indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection were analyzed. The results reveal sustained annual growth with a marked geographic concentration in Brazil, limited international collaboration, and a predominance of epidemiological-descriptive approaches focused on health consequences. Critical gaps are identified in research on cyberbullying, longitudinal studies, and the evaluation of preventive interventions. The field demands a transition to translational research, cultural contextualization of theoretical frameworks, and strengthening of research capacities in emerging contexts to generate actionable evidence that informs effective educational policies.
