Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the social representations that students in the Bachelor of Education program at the Pedagogical University of the State of Sinaloa (UPES), Mazatlán Unit, have about scientific research. This study is based on the recognition of students' perceptions of research and how they directly influence their professional training, as well as their motivation to participate in research processes. The importance of this work lies in the need to understand how they interpret scientific research, since these representations impact their choice of degree programs, their attitude toward methodology, and the way in which teaching is conceived as a space for knowledge generation.
