Social representations of young university students on human rights, gender perspective, equality, inclusion, and university social responsibility.
Abstract
Public universities play a central role in highlighting human rights violations that affect the population and in training human capital dedicated to current social issues. The objective was to understand the social representations of human rights, gender perspective, equality, inclusion, and university social responsibility among 55 young people who participated in a course on the construction of global citizenship. We conducted a qualitative study using the technique of free word association and an analysis through semantic networks. In the results, the peripheral core of the constructs was homogeneous and similar to the central core, indicating stability in the meanings. We discussed the implications of these representations within the framework of the actions of Higher Education Institutions.
