Abstract

This study describes the levels of emotional, academic, and somatization exhaustion in technical high school students in Mexico, analyzing differences according to gender, semester, and specialization. A quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-comparative approach was used, employing a questionnaire that assessed the dimensions of emotional exhaustion, family cynicism, academic ineffectiveness, and somatic symptoms in 1,040 students. The measurement model was validated using SEM-PLS to ensure internal reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the constructs, allowing for the removal of indicators with insufficient loadings or those that affected the HTMT criteria. Descriptive analyses were conducted to identify sociodemographic variations in academic and physical distress. The results provide useful evidence for understanding student well-being at the technical upper secondary level.
