Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the salary gaps between physical therapy professionals in Mexico and other Latin American countries, considering economic, professional, and social variables. A documentary review of official sources and labor reports was conducted between 2020 and 2024. The results show that Mexico ranks among the countries with the lowest average income for physical therapists (8,000–15,000 pesos per month), while countries such as Chile, Argentina, and Colombia offer better salary conditions. The relationship of these disparities with investment in health, the degree of institutionalization of physical therapy, and job stability is discussed.
