Abstract

This study explores the influence of traditional knowledge on the adoption of sustainable practices, aiming to highlight its value as a key element in developing sustainable alternatives. Despite its relevance, this knowledge is at risk of disappearing due to the absence of policies and mechanisms for its documentation, preservation, and transmission. The exploratory-causal approach employed reveals its impact on beekeeping, where a significant relationship between traditional knowledge and sustainability has been identified. However, there is a lack of empirical studies that statistically support this connection. The findings establish a foundation for future research and policy proposals aimed at recognizing and protecting traditional knowledge as intellectual heritage, ensuring its integration into sustainable development strategies.
