Methodological Proposal for an Educational Chatbot for the Symbolic and Graphical Calculation of Limits: Implications for Mathematics Education
Abstract
This paper presents a methodological proposal for the design of an educational chatbot focused on symbolic calculation and the graphical visualization of limits, implemented in a Google Colab environment. The proposal integrates computer algebra, dynamic graphics, and interaction systems to foster exploratory processes and the articulation of symbolic and graphical representations. The design is based on semiotic representation theory, instrumentation approaches, and research on technologyenhanced mathematics learning. The chatbot is conceived as a mediating tool rather than an autonomous tutor, and its function is to support problem-solving, promote reflection, and generate opportunities for conceptual debate, including the intentional presentation of problematic or incorrect answers.
