Research project for the study of the current state of political participation and culture of university students at the Autonomous University of Guerrero: a diagnosis from political education.
Abstract
This research addresses the problem of low political participation among university students at the Autonomous University of Guerrero, Chilpancingo. It begins with the diagnosis of limited and fragmented participation, but without a clear solution to the problem. Using a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative), surveys were administered to students and interviews were conducted with experts to understand the current state of political knowledge among young people in Guerrero. The critical framework integrates a scientific and philosophical perspective on political participation, political education, political socialization, and the impact of digital media. It emphasizes that political education is the appropriate tool for developing critical citizens capable of influencing democratic life and transforming their environment.
