Abstract

Human adaptive intelligence has transformed social and economic structures, consolidating knowledge as a strategic asset. Intellectual capital is essential for innovation and social cohesion, requiring comprehensive education from early childhood. STEAM vocations (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) foster critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility, grounded in equity and environmental respect. Technological progress redefines consumption, generating risks such as consumerism and ecological footprint. Therefore, value-based education must promote responsible consumption as a civic competence, linked to STEAM through ethical and sustainable projects aimed at purposeful innovation and more just societies. This work presents a reflection on values and their relationship with intellectual capital, STEAM, and responsible consumption.
