Social sustainability and urban anthropology in relation to well-being and health education: a bibliometric review based on PRISMA and Web of Science.
Abstract
Urban dynamics profoundly shape contemporary challenges related to well-being, health and social inclusion. This study examines international scientific production on urban anthropology and anthropourbanism from the perspective of urban social sustainability, aiming to identify its evolution, thematic structure and potential links to psychosocial well-being and health education. A bibliometric and systematic review was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection following PRISMA guidelines. The analysis draws on a core corpus of 115 documents, complemented by a health-oriented thematic subset. The results reveal disciplinary concentration in urban studies and strong geographic asymmetry, with limited integration of health and education approaches. These findings highlight research gaps and interdisciplinary opportunities relevant to psychology, special education and health education in urban contexts.
