Evaluation of an educational intervention to improve clinical-diagnostic congruence of Diabetic Neuropathy among family medicine residents.
Abstract
The research evaluated the effectiveness of an intervention to improve clinical-diagnostic consistency of diabetic neuropathy in 40 family medicine residents at the Mexican Social Security Institute in Tabasco, Mexico. A quantitative, quasi-experimental, cross-sectional and analytical study was conducted, applying a service-learning intervention in diagnostic, implementation, and evaluation phases. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics (t-test) with SPSS V26. Comparing preand post-intervention knowledge levels, a significant improvement was observed (p= 0.0001; t=4.438). The study demonstrated that service-learning interventions have a significant and positive impact on clinical knowledge and the overall development of medical residents to enhance the quality of care.
