Competencies and their relationship with entrepreneurship: a documentary study from the perspective of university education
Abstract
This research stems from a specific question observed in recent years within the classrooms of the Academic Division of Economic and Administrative Sciences: What competencies does a university student truly need to have the confidence to venture into entrepreneurship? Through a documentary review of specialized literature, the technical, personal, and strategic skills -identified by both entrepreneurs themselves and educational research as critical determinants -were identified and analyzed. The findings reinforce a shared concern: while the university maintains a distinct focus on disciplinary knowledge, it neglects resilience, applied critical thinking, and the capacity to identify business opportunities. This article reflects upon this gap and points toward concrete curricular adjustments.
