Digital skills and their impact on education: an analysis from a university perspective.
Abstract
Digital competencies are essential in contemporary higher education. This article analyzes their impact on the academic performance, professional training, and employability of college students. Through a review of national and international literature, it examines reference frameworks such as DigComp, empirical evidence on proficiency levels and digital divides, and their links to academic performance. The findings indicate heterogeneous and insufficient skills, despite access to technology. It is concluded that higher education institutions must strengthen their digital training strategies to reduce gaps and enhance their graduates' digital skills.
