Motivational factors determining the business success of mompreneurs.
Abstract
Entrepreneurship among "mompreneurs" is experiencing remarkable growth in Tamaulipas, Mexico, driven by the pursuit of a balance between motherhood and professional development. A study of 123 entrepreneurial mothers revealed that pull factors—personal aspirations and business opportunities—significantly predict business success, while push factors, related to adverse work environments, do not show the same influence. This suggests that these women are primarily motivated by autonomy and personal fulfillment, rather than by economic necessity. For them, success transcends financial gain and encompasses personal satisfaction and work-life balance. Motherhood becomes an experience that strengthens key skills for business management.
