Abstract

Artificial Intelligence Literacy (AIL) has become a fundamental competency for university students due to the increasing use of AI-based tools in academic settings. The aim of this study was to analyze the level of AIL among undergraduate students at a private university in Aguascalientes, Mexico. A quantitative study with an exploratory-descriptive scope was conducted with a sample of 60 students. For this purpose, a test called EXAINAR-EL was developed, consisting of 20 multiple-choice items. The instrument demonstrated favorable content validity, as well as adequate levels of reliability and discrimination. The results revealed a high level of literacy related to the use of AI tools and an intermediate level regarding their conceptual foundations, thus confirming the research hypothesis.
