Reconfiguring professional value in the face of artificial intelligence: education, structural unemployment, and new paradigms of labor market integration in Mexico.

Abstract

This article analyzes the misalignment between the industrial-era educational model and current labor market conditions in Mexico, taking into account the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the displacement of entry-level positions. It examines the national and international statistical context, which highlights the contraction of employment opportunities for university graduates, the fragility of entrepreneurship as a generalized alternative, and the emergence of paradigms centered on problem-solving, micro-credentials, and the strategic use of AI. The analysis integrates data from the World Economic Forum, INEGI, ANUIES, and statements by technology sector leaders to argue that the response to this disruption lies not in abandoning formal education, but rather in reconfiguring its purpose to focus on the generation of demonstrable value.
