Abstract

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has transformed educational environments, significantly impacting academic integrity, ethics, and institutional governance. This study conducted a systematic literature review of publications from 2015 to 2025, following the PRISMA methodology with a bibliographic-descriptive approach. A total of 162 scientific articles were analyzed across four thematic areas: ISO 21001:2025, ethical conduct in education, Generative Artificial Intelligence, and artificial intelligence in education. The findings indicate that higher education institutions in Mexico face significant challenges due to the absence of regulatory mechanisms governing the application and use of GenAI. In contrast, the ISO 21001:2025 Educational Organizations Management Systems standard provides a framework for strengthening ethical conduct within educational institutions.
