Analysis of the Impact of Ergonomic Risk Factors on workers engaged in Rose-Cutting Tasks.
Abstract
This quantitative cross-sectional study evaluated the impact of ergonomic risks on occupational performance and satisfaction among seven rose cutters. The research, conducted at Rancho Las Margaritas, used the RULA, OCRA, and Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) methods. The results revealed a high risk of musculoskeletal injuries in the upper extremities: 71.43% of participants showed a RULA level 4 risk on the right side, and 100% had a high OCRA risk due to repetitiveness. Although the workers enjoyed their work, they reported limitations in performance and physical discomfort due to postures and movements. The implications for occupational therapy underscore the need for urgent ergonomic interventions and adaptations to improve well-being and occupational participation.
