Abstract

This study examines the conceptual and methodological evolution of the Self-Reported Well-being Module (BIARE) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), as well as the key characteristics of its 2025 edition. A descriptive-analytical documentary study was conducted, involving a review of theoretical frameworks, international guidelines, and official INEGI documents. The analysis reveals that BIARE has evolved into a multidimensional measurement tool integrating life satisfaction, affective balance, and eudaimonia, complemented by indicators of mental health, loneliness, physical pain, and subjective economic well-being. The 2025 results show high levels of life satisfaction, albeit with variations across specific domains. The study concludes that BIARE is a valuable tool for research and public policy design.
