Educational Proposal on Nutrition for the prevention of malnutrition addressed to mothers with children under 5 years of age in the town of Yaruquíes, Ecuador.

Abstract

The present work is the result of a cross-sectional descriptive study on knowledge and feeding behavior of mothers with children under 5 years of age in the town of Yaruquíes, Ecuador. It was determined how these predisposing factors affect the malnutrition of these children. it was established that the investigated ones have inadequate alimentary conducts and unsatisfactory knowledge around the form to feed their children; for such reason, it contributed with the design of an educational proposalon feeding for the prevention of the malnutrition in children under 5 years. This design is based on the identification of recognized training needs in educational diagnosis, establishing methodological strategies and an evaluation system.
