Distance education. Research results and strategic actions at "Marta Abreu" Central University of Las Villas.

Abstract

The present work exposes a study done in the "Marta Abreu" Central University of Las Villas on the challenges that the institution must assume for the distance education. To determine these challenges, the method of Prospective Structural Analysis was implemented in order to identify those strategic variables that must be taken into account according to the criteria of teachers, managers and specialists in the subject, a task that was the result of a research project. Based on these results, the Distance Education Group of the university developed a set of strategic actions that have been implemented from the year 2014 to the present and that address each of these challenges.
