Research on Education for Oral Health in geriatric patients in a population of the State of Mexico.
Abstract
Prevention and promotion of health are in a higher place in the world of dentistry with the aim of improving the quality of life of patients, so detecting oral lesions on time will prevent them from progressing. A quantitative, descriptive, cross - sectional study was carried out using instruments such as the Geriatric Oral Health Index, the Oral Health Impact Profile and the Oral Health Survey. The sample was composed of 108 patients in which 37% were male and 63% were female. It was determined that the frequent injury was ulcer in a 49.1%, the denture stomatitis in a 6.5%, fissured epulis in a 1.9%, leukoplakia in an 0.9% and 39.8% did not present an abnormal state.
