Abstract

The zone of proximal development (ZPD) is one of the fundamental categories for the Didactics of our days, which is inserted in the Historical-Cultural approach. An essential element of this approach is to consider the individual as a social being, and its development process will be conditioned by a social and historical mediation, in which educational processes are of essential importance. It goes into some of its aspects, as well as some research experiences carried out in this direction.
