Results in mathematics and its association with some practices of teachers in a Mexican state.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine if there is a significant advance in the results of mathematics and its relation with some practices of teachers in basic education. The sample consisted of 19,513 students from the state of Nuevo León from the 2004-05 to 2012-13 cycles. The databases of the Exams of Quality and Educational Achievement (EXCALE) were analyzed. It is concluded that in third of preschool and in third and sixth of primary school, there was no significant increase, however, in women of third of private secondary, there was a significant difference increasing by school year in the average result of mathematics, which was associated with school activities, attendance and punctuality, and educational interaction.
