Initial diagnosis for the prevention of stuttering in pre-school, school and adolescents.
Abstract
The school framework becomes a key axis for the prevention of language difficulties and alterations. An initial diagnosis was made for the prevention of stuttering. Educators from different educational levels were interviewed, 38 speech therapists from Tungurahua province, Ecuador. A total of 34 pre-school children, 66 school children and 66 adolescents from all over the province were studied. When dealing with qualitative variables, absolute numbers and percentage were used. The 95% Confidence Interval for the percentage was estimated once the assumption was verified and the exact method was used in case of non-compliance.
