Abstract

This article analyzes the legal, social and economic context of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in the national and local scope of the State of Mexico, taking as a starting point its evolution and the way it was fostered in the administrative framework. The State of Mexico is an entity in which the existence of SMEs have been fundamental for the economic growth of the Mexican society; however, at present, there is a social problem, this is caused by the uncontainable growth of large industries, which have caused their development to be economically altered.
