Equity in an Ecuadorian higher education institution.
Abstract
The research carried out aimed to determine the perception of the effective exercise of the principles of equity of all the actors of an Ecuadorian higher education institution, based on the design and application of a reliable and valid measurement instrument. The instrument was designed based on the literature review, and considers four dimensions: personal beliefs, equal access and permanence, non-discriminatory treatment, and affirmative measures of the institution. It was applied to a sample of 136 members of the university community selected by casual sampling. The results suggest a generalized positive perception in the university community about the exercise of equity in the institution, evaluated by the respondents using a Likert-type scale.
