Image segmentation techniques applied in the oral cavity for the diagnosis of gingivitis.
Abstract
In the present work, various digital images of the oral cavity were analyzed through the use of segmentation techniques, which will help provide a better diagnosis of decalcification and gingivitis; undergoes analysis using the Matlab software tool, applying the various segmentation techniques, which have been used during the investigation, including: K-means transform, watershed transform, Top-Hat transform, Sobel transform and Canny's Transform; The following segmentation topics were mainly carried out: Thresholding, based on regions, edge detection, smoothing and pixels.
