Abstract
The objective of this text is to critically analyze the current approach to the crisis of teacher identity as a problem of lack of professional skills and personal resources of teachers or of a mismatch between their knowledge and new social needs. For this, a review and analysis of secondary sources was carried out. In general terms, it has become clear that the approach to teaching identity as a problem of professional skills and personal resources has contributed to making the material dimension of the teaching problem invisible, in which only the individual is held responsible and the role is erased. of the State.
