Teaching Italian based on the cognitive development and learning styles of students.
Abstract
In this work, two of the stages of the Theory of Cognitive Development proposed by Piaget have been considered: the stage of concrete operations and formal operations; as well as the learning styles of the VAK model (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) to support and elaborate teaching strategies of the Italian language and culture. As language teachers we can teach the same subject to different age groups, so it is important to consider this when planning classes, since the strategies, activities and teaching materials must be adapted according to age and learning style of students, to meet their needs and achieve a positive impact on their training.
