Abstract

The objective of this work was to describe strategies to support school learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in 12 female-headed single-parent families with Primary Education children in two different socio-educational contexts in Cuernavaca, Morelos. We worked with a mixed methodology, using a family support strategies questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The results show a different deployment of family strategies to support school learning in families of the public and private school context, corroborate the influence of socioeconomic and cultural capital in the development of the family educational function, and contribute to the understanding of its configuration in the female single parenthood and the impact of the health contingency by COVID-19.
