Digital gender violence in Yucatán, Mexico: intervention and evaluation.
Abstract
Gender violence is one of the main problems in Mexico, and especially in Yucatán. The COVID-19 pandemic, through confinement, favored some behaviors of gender violence to be transferred to the virtual sphere. Universities, as safe spaces, cannot be exempt from this. The Autonomous University of Yucatán developed an intervention program, through 27 workshops where 628 students participated, 60.50% (380) women and 39.50% (243) men on Digital Gender Violence (DGB). The evaluation of the project points out the importance of these types of issues, that there is little data on GBV in higher-level students and the need for specific diagnoses to generate prevention campaigns, materials, and strategies.
