Tourist preferences in a post COVID-19 pandemic environment.

Abstract

This research work studies the market trend regarding tourist preferences in an environment after the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which caused serious damage to the universal economic system, with tourism being one of the main victims. A standardized tool validated by experts is proposed that analyzes the confidence index of 0.91. The population studied was made up of the figure reported by the GAD Baños as a tourist movement in 2019. A sample of 267 surveys was calculated, assuming a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 6%. It was concluded that the pandemic had highlighted the preference of travelers for accommodation located in remote areas with personalized services and treatments and competitive prices.
