Theoretical implications for the study of the university reform
Abstract
From the approach to the reform process driven by the Plan Bologna, it is debated on the recognition of the university as an institution from the conviction that the same institution should be reformed. From empirical findings, and from a qualitative methodology, it is evident, that the change of thinking is more complex than changing organizational structures with a view to a deep socially relevant university reform, since the weight of tradition within the university culture can become a factor of resistance to the natural process of evolution of institutions and therefore the university reform runs the risk of becoming mere changes in form and not substance.
