Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the characteristics of gender roles in the mental health of transgender students in educational institutions and the types of violence that emerge. A multiple case study was carried out, with 3 in-depth interviews with trans youth between the ages of 18 and 20, 2 in educational institutions in Manizales and in an educational institution in the city of Chilpancingo, Guerrero. In September 2022, the fieldwork for the international research internship was carried out, and 3 categories emerged from the analysis: the transit experience, a search for my identity; I always knew that I was someone different, and trans identities, a conflict for the school.
