Online academic writing in university education: a systematic review.
Abstract
The writing of academic texts is a daily activity of the university student that demands the priority attention of the curriculum of the higher level of studies. The study reviewed 30 studies on the use of digital tools in writing academic texts. The Prisma method was applied to select records and it was found that the most used strategies were online collaborative learning and online feedback, while the most popular digital tools included Moodle, Facebook and Google applications. It is concluded that the strategic use of the methodology and digital tools positively influenced the development of academic writing skills, creative and critical thinking, logical reasoning, collaboration, communication and autonomy of university students.
