Victimization and school adjustment in Mexican high school students.
Abstract
The relationship between school victimization and school adjustment in high school students is identified; as well as the differences by sex in both variables. A total of 79 first-year students from a Mexican public high school participated (45.6% women and 54.4% men). The variables were measured with the School Victimization Scale (EVE) and the Brief Multidimensional School Adjustment Scale (EBAE-10). Low and negative correlations were detected in all the tests and in most of their factors; In addition, similar scores were identified by gender in both tests, with the exception of the Verbal Victimization factor, where men showed higher scores. It is concluded that the association of both variables influences the school dynamics of the students.
