Abstract

It is intended to show with theoretical and empirical evidence that cyberviolence has reached unthinkable levels today. Differences compared to other types of violence are pointed out and the problem is located in Mexico. The exploration is bibliographic, descriptive and qualitative and includes a documentary approach to scientific literature, as well as official sources. It was found that the definition used depends on various factors, but sex, age and gender predominate, with women and girls suffering the most. In Mexico, cyberviolence is present above all among schoolchildren in the form of cyberbullying and sexting. In this sense, it is important to find out its causes and promote the elaboration of policies and intervention to said affectations.
