Characterization of environmental perception in elementary school students.
Abstract
The objective of this research was to analyze the environmental perception in a group of 501 schoolchildren in the 4th, 5th and 6th grade of primary education from a public urban institution located in the southeast of Mexico. The research had a quantitative, transversal, and descriptive approach. The sampling was non-probabilistic, for convenience. The Children's Environmental Perception Questionnaire was applied. The capture and analysis of the data was carried out in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, frequencies and proportions were obtained for the study variable. The results revealed that 99.2% of the schoolchildren showed a favorable environmental perception towards statements about nature conservation.
