Distance Higher Education in the future of Mexico: perspectives and challenges.
Abstract
Distance education in Mexico has had a surprising evolution in recent years; its growth has been much higher than the meager growth of face-to-face education, possibly attributable to the arrival of the epidemic caused by COVID-19; however, this organic behavior has not been accompanied by the policy directed to higher education, nor with its consequent financing. Changes and growth in distance education will continue to occur in the coming years and it is foreseeable that they will be accelerated, so its fair recognition and attention from public policies on all fronts becomes mandatory, including those marked by the SDGs recognized in the 2030 Agenda.
