Impact of the pandemic on the rights of children and adolescents.
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic caused unprecedented disruption to education systems globally. The massive closure of schools forced the adoption of distance learning and with this the rights of children and adolescents were violated. The objective of this work is to analyze how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the rights of children. A cross-sectional qualitative-quantitative model was applied and a survey was conducted. It was concluded that several children's rights were violated due to exceptional circumstances and inadequate responses by social and educational systems. The implementation of policies that guarantee equitable access to technologies and the development of psychosocial support programs is suggested.
