Socio-emotional education as an approach to prevent bullying in Mexican primary schools.
Abstract
The research presented explores the role of socio-emotional education as an approach to prevent and reduce bullying in Mexican schools, contributing to the debate on the importance of strengthening socio-emotional education in curricula and educational policies. Using the content analysis method, the strategies, objectives and materials described in phases 2 to 6 of the training field Of the Human and the Community, were contrasted with Bisquerra's pentagonal model of emotional competencies. The findings reveal that the program promotes key skills to prevent and reduce bullying; in addition, it is highlighted that it can be an effective tool as long as challenges such as teacher training and adaptation to local contexts are overcome.
