Dietary pattern and nutritional status in young university students.
Abstract
This cross-sectional, descriptive, correlational study analyzed the relationship between dietary patterns and nutritional status of 193 students from the University of Security and Justice of Tamaulipas. Anthropometric, clinical, and dietary data were collected, and logistic regression models were applied. The results suggest that dairy and legume consumption is associated with better nutritional status, while fast food and low-contribution foods increase the risk of obesity and hypertension. It is concluded that nutrition impacts the health of university students, recommending nutritional interventions to promote healthy habits and prevent chronic diseases.
